The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place: from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web

About
I find that being a self-taught artist affords me a certain freedom. Without the burden of rules, techniques or methods I feel more free to explore. Ultimately, I feel this allows me to better tell my story. Every piece I create has a story. I don't paint for the sake of painting, though more often than not the story is an account of my truth. When shared, I welcome the viewer to create their own narrative.
There is no such thing as cheerful art or dark art...no artist has that power. To suggest this is only a matter of perspective. When one is standing in a bright room they cannot see into a dark one. It's only those standing in darkness that can see into darkness.
